Welp, we have our first assistant coaching surprise.
I have learned Troy offensive line coach Zach Yenser has accepted the OL job at Cal. CoachingSearch.com

Texas Tech interim head coach Chris Thomsen will not be joining the staff as Cal's new offensive line coach as previously reported. Instead Sonny Dykes is taking one more offensive assistant from Louisiana Tech. Offensive graduate assistant Zach Yenser will be joining Tony Franklin (Offensive coordinator), Pierre Ingram (RBs), Rob Likens (WRs), and Mark Tommerdahl (Inside WRs/Special teams), as they all transitioned with Dykes from Louisiana Tech to Cal.
Yenser is the only one of these coaches who is upgrading his coaching position, as this will be his first time coaching the offensive line (Troy supposedly targeted him as offensive line coach). However, he has plenty of requisite experience with this staff as a coach and a player. He's been an assistant for two years at Louisiana Tech, and was also a graduate assistant on Franklin's staff at Troy. Moreover, Yenser played on Franklin's lines as an offensive lineman, so he has plenty of requisite experience for the offense that Dykes and Franklin plan on implementing and executing.
Yenser's Twitter account seems to suggest this is definitely happening.
