For today’s edition of “Cal players transferring to the state of Texas”, the Texas Tech Red Raiders announced that former California Golden Bears defender Evan Rambo will be grad-transferring to their program.

Rambo lined up at safety for his freshman and sophomore campaigns (2015 and 2016), but ended up redshirting in 2017 due to injury and moving to inside linebacker in 2018. Across his career at Cal, Rambo played in 22 games with five starts (seven games and two starts came last season) with 26 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack, and 1 interception.
By my unofficial count, that makes nine players transferring out from Cal after the 2019 season (Rambo, the seven players listed here, and Kanawai Noa). Here’s an update on their destinations:
- Evan Rambo to Texas Tech Red Raiders
- Ross Bowers to Northern Illinois Huskies (link)
- Biaggio Ali Walsh to UNLV Rebels (link)
- Derron Brown, Johnny Adams Jr. Greyson Bankhead, Brandon Singleton, Derrick Clark, and Kanawai Noa are currently unknown
