With the departure of Tony Tuioti to Nebraska, the Bears had to fill a void at DL Coach. The answer to the void was DL Quality Control Coach Andrew Browning.
Browning will take over the position group that he has been working with at Cal for the past year. He is a former player at Boise State and played together with Cal DB Coach Gerald Alexander under Justin Wilcox, including their undefeated 2006 season that culminated in an overtime win in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl over Oklahoma.
Browning also has experience coaching the position; he was the DL Coach at UTEP for the 2013–2017 seasons prior to joining Wilcox’s 2018 staff in quality control. Browning will be Cal’s fourth defensive line coach in four years.
