Demetris Robertson officially out for the rest of the season

The sophomore speedster shares his successful surgery.

Update: Cal officially confirmed that Robertson will be out for the rest of the 2017 season.

Cal confirmed Demetris Robertson’s social media post from last night. The receiver is out for the year after a “lower body” surgery.

Original: Superstar receiver Demetris Robertson has been relatively quiet for the California Golden Bears this season. After appearing in two games (against the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Weber State Wildcats), Robertson has been out with injury. Robertson has shared that he underwent a surgery for a lower-body injury and will be out for the rest of the season.

Midway during the second quarter of our game against the Oregon Ducks, Robertson posted the following:

Surgery was a success! This injury took it's toll on me as I battled through it majority of my freshman year up until now. I feel I owe it to my teammates, coaches and most importantly the university to get back to full strength. #GoBears #UntilNextSeason

A five-star talent, Robertson never used a redshirt and can apply for a medical redshirt for the 2017 season.
