Cal does not receive votes in the Coaches Poll, but earns two from AP

A close win over an FCS team means Cal drops in perception.

NCAA Football: Weber State at California Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

After last week’s big road win over the North Carolina Tar Heels, the California Golden Bears received votes in both the Coaches’ Poll (5 votes, corresponding to #45) and the AP Top 25 (2 votes, corresponding to #40).

After a close win over the Weber State Wildcats, the Bears took a bit of a hit in our national perception. Cal did not receive any votes in the Coaches’ Poll, but held steady with 2 votes in the AP Top 25 (#39). We moved up one spot in the Top 25!

The Ole Miss Rebels did not receive votes in the AP Top 25... does that mean they’re technically the underdogs?
