RB Zion Echols took to Twitter on Tuesday night to post some big news.

The California Golden Bears football program has reportedly granted permission for all schools to contact Echols. Presumably, this is for a transfer and would suggest that we will not restrict him from transferring to—or at least from having contact with—a Pac-12 rival. Echols is already self-reporting that he received an offer from the Montana State Bobcats.
For the 2017 season, Echols was a redshirt-freshman running back who earned one start, which came against the Washington Huskies. Even with an early season-ending injury to starter Tre Watson, the backfield was crowded behind redshirt-junior and breakout-star Patrick Laird and senior Vic Enwere. Echols was used sparingly, running the ball 13 times and catching it five times across 10 games.
Good luck, Zion!
