Laird, Downs, Looney, and Noa will be captains for the rest of the 2017 season

Four Bears earn a big honor for the rest of the season.

After spending the whole first half of the season with rotating game captains, the California Golden Bears announced the four men who will represent us and lead our team for the rest of the year.

(This also applied to the win against the Washington State Cougars, but we didn’t get a post in time.)

For tonight and the rest of the year. Here are the team-voted captains. #GoBears

Our captains will be:

  • RS-Sr ILB Devante Downs,
  • RS-So WR Kanawai Noa,
  • RS-SR DE James Looney, and
  • RS-JR RB Patrick Laird

This honor feels all the more significant after seeing the coaches pick weekly captains for the first six games; it feels like the coaches took the time to ensure these young men deserved this recognition.
