Make a statement.

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

This is it Bears.

This is your chance to make your season. The wins have been awesome (heck, the leads have been awesome!), and everyone is going to look back upon this season as a sign of things to come, but that doesn't mean there isn't work left yet to be done.

Cal needs one more win to go to a bowl game. They have three difficult games left. This is by no means certain. But that win will make this season a solid success.

Cal hasn't beaten Stanfurd in five years. That needs to be rectified in nine days, especially against this lurching wreck of a Cardinal offense.

First things first though. Cal hasn't beaten the Men of Troy in 11 years. ELEVEN. YEARS.

This is Cal's chance to set the stage for next season. The Bears have yet to notch a signature win. All four of their FBS victories have come against losing teams. All four of their defeats have come against winning teams (although two came very close to being won). So far we've done what an average team is supposed to do--hold serve.

It's time to turn the tide.

Cal needs to come out and prove (not to us, but to themselves) they can beat a good team, particularly when the national stage will be shining bright on them. USC might not be ranked, but they are good, and one or two silly bounces away from being so. This would be the best win this program has notched in five years, and Cal could be game enough to steal it if the opportunity is presented to them.

They need that type of victory in their bones before Big Game. They need to infuse that within them before they play another bowl team from somewhere around the country. They need to build their confidence moving forward toward next season, when they return almost everyone, and can potentially compete for bigger and better things.

They need tonight. They need glory.

They need to take. Their. Hearts.

Go Bears. BEAT SC.
