FINALLY, some good news in the health department.
Hunter Hewitt is reporting from Sonny Dyke's post practice presser, and it's big...Chris McCain and Nick Forbes have been CLEARED for Ohio State.
Big news for Cal. According to Sonny Dykes, linebacker Nick Forbes and defensive end Chris McCain WILL play this weekend against Ohio State

Sorry about the error in the previous tweet. Buh did NOT sound optimistic. Basically said we will see on Saturday and he was not sure

In other injury news, linebacker Michael Barton will miss Ohio State, while Kenny Lawler and Bryce Treggs should be available. UPDATE: Michael Lowe IS expected to play.
Sonny: "Forbes and McCain will both play, at least in a limited capacity... Lowe moved good today so I would except him to play"

Although he may not be in on all the snaps, with McCain in at defensive end, Cal stands a substantially better chance of handling the various speed options, read options, and perimeter based attacks that Ohio State likes to run - he's by far a better athlete than Dan Camporeale or Kyle Kragen.
Forbes might be an even bigger addition, however often he's out there - he is a smart, heady and disciplined force up the middle, traits that the younger Hardy Nickerson lacks at times due to his inexperience. Hopefully Forbes is close to, or at full strength for this one. Cal will need him to be.
