The Bears have their candidate to fill the open RB coach position on the Cal Football coaching staff. Current Cal Poly RB Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Aristotle Thompson is to making the move up to Northern California.

Thompson currently is the RB and FB coach at Cal Poly, along with the added role of Recruiting Coordinator. In 2017, he also became Assistant Head Coach. Thompson has coached up a 1000 yard rusher for Cal Poly for the past 9 seasons. Prior to joining the Mustangs, Thompson was the assistant director of football operations for his alma mater, Boise State for two years in 2007 and 2008.
Thompson graduated Boise State in 2001, but not before helping the Broncos to two Big West Conference championships in 1999 and 2000, and two bowl game victories in the Humanitarian Bowl, over Louisville in 1999 and UTEP in 2000.
He originally hails from Portland, Oregon and attending Portland’s Jesuit High School. In his senior season, 1995, Thompson was the Gatorade Oregon High School player of the year and named first team all-state.
