Offensive coordinator Beau Baldwin sounds like he will be bringing at least one assistant with him. Receivers coach Nicholas Edwards looks as if he will be the next hire for the California Golden Bears. He has been the wide receivers coach at Eastern Washington for three years. He is 27 years old.

Edwards is most well-known for coaching Cooper Kupp, one of the greatest FCS football players ever. Kupp racked up 428 catches and 73 touchdowns in a four-year career at Eastern Washington, and has the most receiving yards ever by any college football player at any level at 6,464. Eastern Washington’s pass attack was one of the best in college football during his time there. Edwards played at Eastern Washington as well, graduating in 2012.
This will probably be a hire that isn’t quite as universally well-received, but in terms of young up-and-coming offensive coaches, Edwards definitely has showcased some bona fide credentials.
Cal fans, thoughts on Edwards?
