Was a 6-hr win over Washington enough for Cal to break into the polls?

Update: In the Colley Matrix—which touts itself as being free of bias or brand recognition and focusing solely on results—Cal “dropped” from an 85-way tie at 1st place to 35th. This is in part because they don’t have Washington ranked very highly as the Huskies’ one claim to fame is a win over an FCS team.

Original: After a long, wet night of six hours of action, the California Golden Bears pounded the Washington Huskies and escaped with a win—and some national recognition.

In the AP Top 25, the Bears received 95 votes for 27th place; the Huskies dropped from 14th to 23rd place after their receivers dropped balls, causing them to drop the game.

Meanwhile, the coaches Pokemon Went to the polls and in the latest Amway Coaches Poll, Cal received 51 votes to place 28th and caused Washington to drop from 12th to 21st.

Given the circumstances of the game, I’m guessing a lot of those voters went to bed before our game even resumed post-lightning. Staying up past your bedtime is hard and I’m certainly feeling it today.
