The California Golden Bears are set to enter the Californian gauntlet—facing the three non-Cal Californian Pac-12 schools—and needing just one more win to qualify for a bowl.

CBS Sports predicts a lonely winter for California with no bowl.

For a sunnier winter, we turn to 247 Sports, who project we’ll take on the Miami Hurricanes in the Sun Bowl for a rematch of the 2008 Emerald Bowl; the sun pun was truly unintended as I wrote it before I even saw it was the Sun Bowl. ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura has the same prediction while Mark Schlabach calls for a family affair as our coaches must return home to face the Boise State Broncos in the Las Vegas Bowl.
