On Thursday, Ryan Gibson took to Twitter to announce that he is walking away from the sport of football for undisclosed reasons.
I am so thankful to Cal Football for giving me some of my best friends and memories of my college career.

Four seasons has flown by, and I will always cherish my moments on the field. On to the next adventure!

Hailing from Mississippi, Gibson was a star playing on the offensive and defensive line. He joined the California Golden Bears for the 2015 season, which he redshirted. In 2017, Gibson played in ten games, starting three of them at left and right guard. And in his final season of football (as a redshirt junior), Gibson played nine games; he started in the final eight games of the season.
We thank Ryan for all of his hard work and sacrifices here and wish him well in all of his future pursuits!
