Let’s take our weekly peek into the future of bowl games now that the California Golden Bears are officially bowl-eligible.

- CBS Sports: First Responder Bowl (Dallas, TX) vs. the Miami-Florida Hurricanes
- ESPN, Kyle Bonagura: Las Vegas Bowl (Las Vegas, NV) vs. the Fightin’ Tedfords, f.k.a. the Fresno State Bulldogs
- ESPN, Mitch Sherman: Cheez-It Bowl (Phoenix, AZ) vs. the Seriously, I Don’t Want to Play Tedford
SBNation and CBS Sports are holding steady with the predictions they made last week and there are two common themes overall.
Three of the five projections have Cal visiting arid Arizona for the Cheez-It Bowl. That’s fine—I don’t care too much one way or the other between the lower-tier bowls.
But unfortunately (to me), both ESPN writers predict Cal will face off against Jeff Tedford’s Fresno State. Tedford was the Cal coach when I started being a fan, so I personally can’t fathom having to see him on an opposing sideline. These damn ESPN projections have killed all of my positivity from last night.
