We’ve almost arrived at the best time of the year: the start of the NCAA Tournament. Unfortunately, this year, the Cal men won’t be dancing after their second-round exit in the Pac-12 Tournament. At least the Bears beat Stanford in the first round!
Regardless, Selection Sunday is upon us, and with it, the announcement of the 68-team field and the draw. It’s worth noting that regions are of less importance this year since the entire tournament will be held in Indianapolis. There are certain to be some surprises as always, and perhaps more this time around as teams fall out due to health and safety protocols. Virginia, Kansas, and Duke have all dropped out of their conference tournaments in recent days, calling into question their availability for the Big Dance, and that could be the tip of the iceberg.
The Conference of Champions will likely only be represented by four teams in this year’s tournament: Oregon, USC, and Colorado, and Oregon State. Beyond that, we’ll find out the rest of the men’s draw together with the rest of the country on Selection Sunday.
How to watch Selection Sunday:
When: Sunday, March 14 at 3 p.m. PT
How to watch/listen: CBS, Sirius XM
All NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament games will be broadcast on TBS, TNT, TruTV, or CBS.
After a year without the tournament, it’s a joy to have it back, even if Cal is absent for the fourth straight time. And in case you’re still jones-ing for some Golden Bears action, Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics will be taking the court at 5 p.m. PT against the Houston Rockets.
