This year has been appallingly bad year for Cal's football play calling. They have the talent to compete with anybody in the Pac12, but take the ball out of their hands. They seem to be trying things to see if maybe they will work. There is no strategic plan, or if there is, it does not seem to begin with end in mind - that is - winning games. Nevada game, gashing their defense with big runs at will... so let's pass instead, playing right into their defensive strengths. It was hard to watch. UCLA game, starting with two QB runs and a low percentage pass, says " we have zero confidence" . You've got to win the mental game before you win the physical one.
