The California Golden Bears, if they do get in a spring season, will be without Ricky Walker and Luc Bequette, as each of the two former Bears has announced their transfer destinations.

While the Pac-12 has cancelled the 2020 fall sports seasons, and though they aim for a spring season, odds are there will be no football for this year. Bequette is obviously hoping to play this season as in his message he announced that he’s in the process of his application.

Bequette’s salute followed a message he told Sports Illustrated:

“Just letting people know that I will always love Cal!” he said in a message. “I chose Boston College today. In the process of doing my application now.”

As for Walker, the former Cal wide receiver is headed a bit north to Corvallis, Oregon and is joining the Oregon State Beavers.

A former walk-on during Sonny Dykes’ coaching era, Walker earned his degree from Cal this past spring and will play out his final year of eligibility with the Beavers.

Walker was moved to wide receiver when Justin Wilcox took the helm and earned a scholarship last August. He caught his only two passes of the 2019 season against his new team as well, hauling in two passes for 30 yards against Oregon State.

We wish you both well, just not when the Beavs play the Bears next!

Thanks for your time at Berkeley!
