Video Highlights: Cal 3-star OT commit Will Reed

Reed made it official with his commitment last week

The California Golden Bears got a big-time commitment from a big-time offensive tackle recruit this weekend, securing the services of three-star OT Will Reed from Eastside Catholic High School in Sammamish, Washington.

The three-star tackle ranks as the 14th-best player in the state of Washington and stands at 6’5, 260 pounds with room to gain muscle on his frame.

He had at least 26 total scholarship offers and chose Cal over several Pac-12 foes including Colorado, Utah, Washington State among many other Power-5 schools who had offered.

He’s projected as a Power-5 starter by National Recruiting Editor Brandon Huffman of 247 Sports. He compares to former Oregon Ducks OT Calvin Throckmorton and has incredible athleticism as a former basketball player.

Originally a basketball player, Reed is a right tackle with versatility and athleticism to play in space, with good feet. Smart player with a high football IQ, uses his hands well and trusts his technique. Needs to fill out and add strength so he can consistently deliver that initial punch to neutralize his defender. Projects as a Power 5 Starter.

With his commitment in hand, let’s take to the video to see what Cal is getting with his services. Welcome to Berkeley, Will!
