The Charles Schwab Challenge kicked off the PGA Tour’s return to action this past weekend and a couple of former California Golden Bears were there to have some fun with one another, at least virtually.
Former Cal QB and current Green Bay Packers superstar Aaron Rodgers virtually introduced former Cal golfer Max Homa on the first tee of the event. The announcement, however, was unlike any other announcement that the PGA Tour is used to.
Rodgers remarked that Homa ‘has a mustache that allows his friends to make fun of him endlessly, a wife that gives him the cold shoulder and a dog and best friend that refuses a walk.’
He continued the virtual introduction with more candid remarks as well such as the fact that Homa is an avid amateur Scrabble player, occasional podcaster and then perhaps the best yet, an all-time Twitter troll. Rodgers then references the real life event, and kicks off Homa’s Round 1 with your usual announcement, which was surely necessary at this stage.

Homa finished the round at even par 70, birdieing the last hole to get back to even-par for the round. Justin Rose leads the event at 7-under through one round.
The Charles Schwab Challenge is taking place in Dallas, Texas and will continue through the weekend with Rounds 3-4 scheduled to air on Saturday and Sunday.
