The Orange County High School Softball All-Star Games announced their eight-member class of Hall of Famers this week, and interim head coach of the California Golden Bears softball team, Tammy Lohmann, was honored.

Lohmann played for Katella High School from 1991-94 as a shortstop and joins six other former players and longtime Pacific coach Mark Campbell, who passed away suddenly last year.

Lohmann took over as interim head coach of the Cal softball program on March 3 after longtime head coach Diane Ninemire stepped down. Though their season was cancelled due to COVID-19, Lohmann won her first three games as head coach before dropping the last two during the James Madison Dukes Invitational in Harrisburg, Virginia.

The rest of the season was cancelled and it does seem likely that Lohmann will be placed as the team’s head coach for future seasons. Lohmann has been on the Cal staff since 2005 when she was announced as an assistant coach before being promoted to assistant head coach in 2016.

The other members of the Orange County Softball Hall of Fame for 2020 are:

2020 Martha Noffsinger 1983-86 SS Edison
2020 Tiffany Boyd 1985-88 P Woodbridge
2020 Kelli Moore 1986-89 SS Los Alamitos
2020 Cheryl Longeway 1988-91 P Kennedy
2020 Tammy Lohmann 1991-94 SS Katella
2020 Kelsey Kollen 1995-98 2B Mater Dei
2020 Brittany Weil 2002-05 P Pacifica
2020 Mark Campbell 2008-19 COACH Pacifica

Congrats, Coach!
