News broke recently about California Golden Bears WR Nikko Remigio working out with former NFL WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, as he became another prominent football athlete to be featured working on his craft with some of the NFL’s best this offseason.

Remigio is set to likely be the Bears’ biggest threat at wide receiver this year, and perhaps even set for a breakout year with a healthy Chase Garbers at the helm.

Working out with Houshmandzadeh, though it doesn’t fulfill what a spring and summer practice regiment would have, is certainly a good thing for Remigio, as it would be a good thing for any college wide receiver. Houshmandzadeh hauled in a career 627 receptions for 7,237 yards and 44 touchdowns during his NFL career that spanned 146 games with the Cincinnati Bengals, Seattle Seahawks, Baltimore Ravens and Oakland Raiders.

Remigio caught 38 passes for 513 yards and three scores a year ago including two touchdowns and 251 of those yards coming over the final three games with a healthy Garbers back in the lineup. They can possibly form one of the Pac-12’s best duos this season if they both remain healthy and especially if Houshmandzadeh’s teachings rub off on Remigio.

The Cal Bears football squad wasn’t the only team making news this past weekend, and after a long Memorial Day Weekend for us all, here’s the news breakdown:
