In an emotional and moving tribute to the California Golden Bears who virtually graduated, former rugby player and an inspiration himself, Robert Paylor was selected as the keynote speaker for Cal Athletics’ virtual graduation ceremony.
Following a moving tribute from his former coach Jack Clark, Paylor gave a tremendous speech about not only his time at and after Cal but also what it means to graduate from the No. 1 public university in the world.
And thanks to the Cal Varsity Rugby Twitter account, we have the chance to watch it in its entirety.
Take a look, and watch for yourself as Paylor even stands up and walks on his own at the end.
On Saturday, Robert Paylor was selected as @CalAthletics keynote speaker at the University of California’s Athletics commencement ceremony. Below is rugby coach Jack Clark’s intro of Robert and Robert’s keynote address which encapsulates both his and every SA's journey at Cal. pic.twitter.com/TWxIhyrz75
