The California Golden Bears versus the Washington State Cougars football game, scheduled for December 12, 2020 has been cancelled, according to reports from FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman.

The report further stated that Cal would apparently be with just two defensive linemen in the game against Washington State after contact-tracing protocols would have sat the rest of the group.

In a year with so much going against it, this is yet another setback, and perhaps the final setback, for the Cal Bears this season who were hoping to ride a one-game win streak and close out their season on a high note.

There has been no official confirmation from Cal Football nor from the Washington State team either.

There have been over 100 games cancelled this season and this game becomes the second Pac-12 game this weekend to be cancelled after the Washington vs Oregon game was cut short earlier this week. That game would have served as the de facto Pac-12 North Title eliminator after the Ducks had lost two and the Huskies just one game. The winner would have advanced to the Championship Game.

This is a developing story and we’ll continue to monitor as it goes along but it seems as if we’ll be without the Cal Bears this Saturday.
