The recent regulations over rising COVID-19 cases has left the rest of the California Golden Bears season in jeopardy. Sure, they play two teams in states with less stringent restrictions on coronavirus, but that leads the team to have to figure out practice arrangements, hotel locations, staff and team travel, etc. for the last two games of the season.
It also doesn’t do anything to prepare the team for whoever they may play during the Pac-12 Championship Week game that has yet to be determined.
While we don’t know if they’ll even get the game played, we can still take a look at what the opening line for the Oregon Ducks vs Cal Bears game was, and it isn’t pretty.
Oregon opened as 11-point favorites, though the number has been bet a bit towards Cal and is now under 10 points in most places.
Largely thought of as a team who could contend with the Ducks for the Pac-12 North title this season, both have lost to the Oregon State Beavers at this time and trail the Washington Huskies who sit at 3-0 to start the season.
We’re just two ‘regular season weeks’ away from the culmination of the Pac-12 2020 season yet we have no idea how this is all going to end up. The Bears are currently scheduled to take on the Oregon Ducks at 4:00 pm on Saturday.
