Ashtyn Davis didn’t take long to make a great first impression with his new team in the NFL, flipping his way to success during offseason workouts. It was just a few weeks ago that he was also named a starter on their defense.
And now, during their Week 11 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers, Davis and his New York Jets get to go against another former Pac-12 legend and old rival Justin Herbert.
Davis has started the last two games for the Jets and had his first career pass breakup against the New England Patriots in Week 9. With Herbert on the schedule this week — we take a look at Davis’ past games against the Oregon Ducks with Herbert at the helm.
In 2019, Davis looked every bit like a future NFL star, nabbing an interception and allowing just nine yards in coverage versus the Ducks in Eugene. He had a mixed bag of results against the Ducks in his two previous outings but 2019 was something special, and he’ll look to keep that pace up against the Chargers this week.
Former Cal WR Keenan Allen will also be in action, so it’s very likely we could see Cal on Cal coverage vs receiver in this one.
Elsewhere in the NFL, the following California Golden Bears will be in action:
Tyson Alualu, Pittsburgh Steelers (vs Jacksonville)
Stephen Anderson, Los Angeles Chargers (vs NYJ)
Bryan Anger, Houston Texans (vs New England)
Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams (vs Tampa Bay)
Jaylinn Hawkins, Atlanta Falcons (vs New Orleans)
Marvin Jones Jr., Detroit Lions (vs Carolina)
Cameron Jordan, New Orleans Saints (vs Atlanta)
Jordan Kunaszyk, Washington Football Team (vs Cincinnati)
L.P. Ladouceur, Dallas Cowboys (vs Minnesota)
Patrick Laird, Miami Dolphins (vs Denver)
Alex Mack, Atlanta Falcons (vs New Orleans)
Patrick Mekari, Baltimore Ravens (vs Tennessee)
Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers (vs Indianapolis)
Richard Rodgers, Philadelphia Eagles (vs Cleveland)
Mitchell Schwartz, Kansas City Chiefs (vs Las Vegas)
Nick Sundberg, Washington Football Team (vs Cincinnati)
