The California Golden Bears are looking to exact revenge for their season-opening loss last week and face off against the Oregon State Beavers today at 12:30 pm PT. The Bears are averaging 46 points per game in their last three meetings with the Beavers.
Game prediction
Usually, you don’t put too much value in a Week 1 performance in a normal season. In a season played amidst a global pandemic and a ‘season-opening’ game that saw the Bears pivot off their originally-scheduled opponent to traveling south to LA for a game with UCLA on two days notice, you truly can throw that out.
This is still the team that was picked No. 2 in the North Division and until they prove that their short-notice, disappointing performance against UCLA was who they are this year, you have to side with the fact that this is an experienced and talented team.
Cal should have the advantage just about everywhere on the field and Chase Garbers should be able to find a rhythm in the passing game against a team that the Bears have historically dominated.
Cal gets back on track, in a big way, ahead of the 123rd Big Game next week.
