The California Golden Bears are back in Berkeley, and big things are set to happen. Sure, we’re far removed from the high aspirations at the turn of the calendar year for the football team, but there’s still a great chance for making waves in the Pac-12.

The Cal basketball team is back at practice and it sure is great to hear the sounds of the team back at Haas.

The coronavirus pandemic has absolutely tempered expectations for just about every program across the country as we’re not sure how many games each team will even be able to play this season but one thing is for certain, it’s great to have the Bears back in Berkeley.

And so with that — and with the trials of actually getting media coverage on anything athletics-related this season — we hit the news shelves to see what the biggest storylines have been this week.

Your Golden Nuggets for this week hit topics from gridiron to hard court and everything in between.

Reminder — Cal kicks off their football season on November 7 versus Washington.

Here’s what’s happening around Berkeley for your favorite sports teams.
