This has major stakes for both programs for the rest of the season. The Bears beating Oregon would give them the tiebreaker over the Pac-12 projected champion, and would also own the head-to-head over the second likeliest contender, Washington. Oregon winning would put them in pole position to win the North, and make Cal’s chances of getting to the Pac-12 championship game pretty remote.
This will be the first time Cal has played a 5 PM national telecast since the 2017 Big Game, where Cal lost to Stanford 17-14.
Could this be a College Gameday selected game? Obviously, Cal has to beat Arizona State first, but there’s still a chance. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
