Live thread: Pac-12 Media Day

Football season is right around the corner as the Pac-12 opens its doors to the media

NCAA Football: California at Arizona Casey Sapio-USA TODAY Sports

The long, cold days sans football that began after the 2018 Cheez-Int Bowl will soon be behind us. In just over a month—on August 31—the California Golden Bears will take the field to kick off a new season.

As part of that new-season build, it has become tradition for the Pac-12 to open up and interact with the media in the aptly-name Pac-12 Media Day. We’ve sent our own Rob Hwang and thedozen down there to learn all about this year’s Pac-12, but if you’re lucky enough to get the Pac-12 Networks, then you can tune in for yourself. Here’s today’s schedule (with all times listed in Pacific):

Pac-12 North

  • 9:30 a.m.: Oregon Ducks (Mario Cristobal, QB Justin Herbert, LB Troy Dye)
  • 9:45 a.m.: Oregon State Beavers (Jonathan Smith, RB Jermar Jefferson, WR Isaiah Hodgins)
  • 10:00 a.m.: California Golden Bears (Justin Wilcox, LB Evan Weaver, CB Camryn Bynum)
  • 10:15 a.m.: Stanfurd Cardinal (David Shaw, QB K.J. Costello, LB Casey Toohill)
  • 10:30 a.m.: Washington State Cougars (Mike Leach, OL Liam Ryan, LB Jahad Woods)
  • 10:45 a.m.: Washington Huskies (Chris Petersen, C Nick Harris, DB Myles Bryant)
  • 11:00 a.m.: Inside Pac-12 Football Media Day for the North Division

Pac-12 South

  • 2:30 p.m.: UC Los Angeles Bruins (Chip Kelly, RB Joshua Kelley, LB Krys Barnes)
  • 2:45 p.m.: Arizona State Sun Devils (Herm Edwards, RB Eno Benjamin, C Cohl Cabral)
  • 3:00 p.m.: Arizona Wildcats (Kevin Sumlin, QB Khalil Tate, RB J.J. Taylor)
  • 3:15 p.m.: Colorado Buffaloes (Mel Tucker, WR Laviska Shenault Jr., LB Nate Landman)
  • 3:30 p.m.: Utah Utes (Kyle Whittingham, RB Zack Moss, DE Bradlee Anae)
  • 3:45 p.m.: USC Trojans (Clay Helton, WR Michael Pittman Jr., DE Christian Rector)
  • 4:00 p.m.: Inside Pac-12 Football Media Day for the South Division

As a true indicator that this is Justin Wilcox’s team, note that we are the only team that sent two defensive players (compared to three teams that sent two offensive players and eight teams who sent an offensive and defensive representative with no teams sending a specialist). Send any questions that you have for the Golden Bears (or any of the other guests) and Rob and thedozen will do their best to ask.
