When Coach Wilcox first arrived at Cal, he mentioned that he would love to connect with Cal Football Alumni, reconnect them to the program and would love their help and support to enhancing the program. He got significant reinforcement today.
Former Cal QB and fan favorite Aaron Rodgers has made a significant donation to the program. Rodgers, who is currently the highest paid QB in the NFL, made a seven-figure donation “that will be used to renovate the football locker room and create the Aaron Rodgers Football Scholarship.”
Helping to move the program forward.

AD Jim Knowlton also commented on the big donation saying, “Aaron Rodgers is one of the most exceptional players in the history of our football program and among the most recognizable names in the world. We are tremendously proud of Aaron and grateful that he is providing this level of support to our football program, and we believe it will inspire others, as well. His generosity allows us to greatly enhance our student-athlete experience and provide a scholarship to a deserving junior college transfer. I’d also like to extend a thank you to Paul White, whose long-time support for Cal Athletics has enabled us to expand opportunities for student-athletes in countless ways.”
In regards to the donation, the locker room renovation will be done this summer and be ready for the 2019 season. The locker room will also be renamed the Aaron Rodgers Team Locker Room. Every year the scholarship will be given to a JC transfer.
