Cal MBB schedules Harvard for 2019-2020 season

The Bears are reportedly scheduling the Harvard Crimson to their out of conference schedule for the 2019-2020 season. The Bears will host the Crimson sometime early on in the season. This is the second straight season that the team will have faced off against an Ivy League school in the early goings of the season.

Last year, Harvard went 19–12 (10–4 Ivy League) in the twelfth season for Tommy Amaker. In case you need reminding, Cal went 8–23 (3–15 Pac-12). Harvard won more games in-conference than we won total. Lovely.

Our last men’s basketball game against an Ivy League school was against the Yale Bulldogs in Shanghai in November last year, which we lost 76–59. A quick Googling suggests that our last game against Harvard (in men’s basketball) was a losing effort for us at Haas Pavilion in 2012, 67–62. So, it looks like our recent history against the Ivy League has been just a teensy bit subpar.
