Before Cal’s Feb. 13 game against UCLA, a season-ticket holder of more than two decades stood in the rain and passed out flyers directing fans to, where a petition to fire head coach Wyking Jones, who is 13-44 with the Bears. In less than a day, more than 100 people signed the petition.

“I understand that our fans want see better results,” Jones said in a statement to The Chronicle. “No one wants to win more than our student-athletes, our staff and me. We’re all competitors and we all have pride. Our focus every day is to help shape high-character young men while building a program that our fans can be proud of.”
