It’s the home stretch for the California Golden Bears as they take on the Washington State Cougars. Cal looks to snap a four-game losing streak and re-orient the ship for the final stretch.
Both Cal and Washington State are battling to avoid last place in the Pac-12 North—the Bears and Cougars have only one win each in conference. With both teams sitting at 4-4, this is also a crucial matchup for bowl standing.
Cal has played Washington State well during the Justin Wilcox era. They crushed the Cougars unexpectedly when Washington State came in undefeated to Berkeley in 2017, and then Cal played Washington State to a deadlock for 58 minutes in Pullman in 2018 before the Cougars pulled through in the end. However the Cougars offense has been humming as of late, losing close to Oregon and Arizona State and blowing Colorado out.
Cal might have to score points to win, but luckily the Golden Bears get Devon Modster back for this one.
