A whole bunch of rivalry games are being played today.

In the Civil War, the alumni association of either the Oregon Ducks or the Oregon State Beavers will walk away with the Platypus Trophy. I love this trophy for two reasons. One, because it’s a funny homage to both of the mascots. Secondly, because the schools’ athletic directors were reportedly all-in on using this as a trophy, but suddenly changed their minds “after viewing the abstract piece”. Now, that is a level of ugly that only I can appreciate.
