Cal lands the commitment of San Diego CB Tyson McWilliams

Big commitment.

Two days, two more major commitments. Gerald Alexander and the California Golden Bears land another one for the Takers in San Diego (Ca.) St. Augustine cornerback Tyson McWilliams, who took his official to Berkeley this weekend and committed Sunday night.

McWilliams is a three-star cornerback according to 247Sports Composite, holding 19 offers from not just major programs like BYU, Oregon State and Nebraska, but also the service academies like Army, Air Force and Navy, as well as Ivy League programs like Cornell, Dartmouth and Penn.

McWilliams becomes the fourth cornerback to commit in this class, with Cal already landing commitments from Isaiah Young, Dejuan Butler, and Collin Gamble, plus Trey Paster at safety. The Bears now have a great deal of depth to ensure the transition from one generation of secondary to the next will be only a slight bump in the road.

Here’s a look at the highlights of McWilliams from his senior season. Welcome Tyson and Go Bears!
