The California Golden Bears return to action after a much-needed bye week to host the Oregon State Beavers. Cal will have its second game this season start before noon Pacific, as California Memorial Stadium will enjoy an 11:30 am kickoff.
Cal is coming into this game 4-2, needing two more wins to clinch consecutive bowl seasons for the first time in a decade. Cal has already played three of the four toughest games on the schedule, but without Chase Garbers and a very banged-up offense, the Bears can’t take anything for granted. Cal’s defense is still playing at a top 25 level, but they are prone to upsets at any time.
Coming up for Cal will be four straight top 25 offenses, starting with 2-5 Oregon State. The Beavers are coming off a shellacking to Utah, and will almost certainly bounce back and play better. This is a big test for the Golden Bears offense—Oregon State’s defense is the worse they’ll face the rest of the season. Can Cal put up points?
