The first half was good basketball where both teams played well. Utah had the shooting edge, knocking down 54% of their shots. Utah gave Cal all they could handle on defense. The Utes ran good half-court sets and found a way to get the ball to the corner for open shots. Utah got a big push from forward Both Gach scored 13 points in 13 minutes of action, shooting 5-7 from the field. Offensively, the Bear got production from nearly everyone who got on the court. Justice Sueing led the Bears with 14 points. The Bears ended the half on a 6-0 run in 59 seconds.

In the second half, the game ran away from the Bears. Utah continued to score the ball well, and maintained their lead through the entire second half. In the second half, Timmy Allen made some critical shots for the Utes. He scored 15 points overall. Sedrick Barefield would go on to lead all scorers with 21 points. For the Bears, Justice Sueing scored 20 points.
