The California Golden Bears return to the road to try and get their second win of the season. Cal travels to Provo to face the BYU Cougars on Saturday night. Cal is currently situated at around 2.5 point underdogs, basically placing this in the Vegas zone of “who knows what to expect” on Saturday. Perfect Pac-12 After Dark fodder.
BYU also won their first game of the season, throttling Khalil Tate and Arizona on the road in Tucson. The Cougars look like a very different squad than the bumbling product that stumbled its way to 4-9.
It looks like Kalani Sitake might be getting things back on the right track. Or maybe Kevin Sumlin is veering the Wildcat train into a canyon. Who knows!
The last time Cal played against BYU was 2014, when the Bears were looking to make a bowl game on the final day of the season. Cal lost 42-35 in a shootout against a backup quarterback. The Bears will be looking to reestablish their mojo after playing one half of decent football and one half of insomnia on Saturday.
Kickoff is at 7:15 PM Pacific on ESPN2.
