Golden Nuggets: All-Conference Honors for Anigwe, Cowling, Smith, Thomas

Basketball

Women’s

• All-Pac 12 selections are here! Four Bears were honored:
• Kristine Anigwe made the All-Pac-12 and has done so in all 3 of her seasons at Cal. (Only Devanei Hampton has also achieved that here) She was also honorable mention for the All-Pac-12 defensive team.
• Mikayla Cowling is an honorable mention for both All-Pac-12 and All-Defensive teams.
• Asha Thomas is an honorable mention for the All-Pac-12 team. She currently leads the entire conference in free-throw shooting percentage.
• Kianna Smith, in addition to being named freshman of the week, made the All-Freshmen team.

Later today, we will learn who is the Player of the Year, Freshmen of the Year among others and I’m sure Anigwe and Smith, respectively, will have a shot at the awards! If anything happens I’ll make a new post for it.

Men’s

Misc.

• Matt Biondi, former Olympian, will be inducted to the Pac-12 Hall of Honor during the men’s basketball Pac-12 tourney.
• It was a weekend that saw the Cal baseball team outscore CSU Bakersfield 58-13. See video highlights and full recaps of every game from Ryan Gorcey.
