On November 24, 2017, UCLA Bruins quarterback Devon Modster came in at halftime in relief of Josh Rosen following a brutal hit against the California Golden Bears. With Modster in, UC L.A. would win 30–27.
On September 21, 2018, Modster announced that he would be transferring from UC L.A. after finding himself behind Wilton Speight and Dorian Thompson-Robinson on the depth chart.
On December 14, 2018, Modster announced his commitment to Cal. He now joins the Cal QB room, which only has three scholarship QBs. If our math is correct, Devon looks to be able to play for three years.

In the 2017 season, Modster completed 51 of 79 passes (64.6%) as a Bruin with four touchdowns and no interceptions. Modster spent the 2018 season with Palomar College and his goal for 2019 is “to walk straight onto the field and start”. As a recruit, Modster was a four-star player and rated as the 13th-best quarterback of his class.
Welcome to the University of California, Devon!
