The Bears played their most competitive half of basketball this season. The intensity, composure and energy came out high and maintained itself through leads, deficits and ties. Cal went into halftime down by 4. Justice Sueing scored 14 in the first half on 6/9 shooting and 2⁄3 from beyond the arc. The bigs of Marcus Lee and Kingsley Okoroh was very ineffective. Despite Marcus, Juhwan Harris-Dyson, Don Coleman in foul trouble, the Bears shot a solid 42.3% from the field and maintained a solid performance throughout the game.
The Bears made it a competitive game in the second half. keeping it within one possession for the majority of the half. The Huskies went on a 12-0 run to gain an 11 point lead with 7:34 remaining in the game. The Bears could not close the gap but maintained a high level of energy the entire second half despite losing Don Coleman early to his 4th foul plus a technical foul. Justice Sueing had a career high 27 points on 11/16 shooting, also knocking down 4/5 from beyond the arc. He also added 8 rebounds.
