The California Golden Bears return to the spooky confines of Pac-12 After Dark tonight as they take on the Oregon Ducks. Cal and Oregon are both coming off their first losses of the season; the Bears fell to USC at home, the Ducks lost to Arizona State on the road.
Cal will be playing in Autzen Stadium, a wonderful football picnic of horrors for the Bears over the last 30 years. In Cal’s last four games in Eugene, they’ve lost by 39, 28, 39, and 16. Winning tonight (or even putting up a close hard-fought effort) would be a sign of progress for Justin Wilcox’s Bears after the series of blowouts Cal has suffered here in the past.
This is Cal’s second late night game of the year. Cal beat Ole Miss 27-16 two weeks ago in Berkeley. Can they repeat that type of effort tonight?
