The California Golden Bears snapped a long losing streak to the Oregon Ducks last season. Will they be able to go into Autzen Stadium and snap another one?
Vegas is thinking otherwise: Cal is currently situated as 16.5 point underdogs in Eugene, as you would expect.
Cal has a long, documented, painful history in Autzen Stadium. Cal has won up in Oregon once in the past 30 years, and it took a Marcus Ezeff forced fumble touchback to secure that win. Cal has been savaged in its last four trips, surrendering 40 points or more on every occasion.
Moreover, of all the teams that Justin Wilcox has faced as a defensive coordinator, no offense has given him more trouble than the Mighty Ducks. Wilcox’s defenses at Tennessee, Washington and USC went into battle with Oregon, and could not find ways to stop the Ducks. This will be a real test to see if Wilcox has learned from those battles.
Cal fans, what are your thoughts on the Oregon line? Let us know in the comments.
