Cal opens as 15 point underdogs to USC

Is this the year the Golden Bears shock the Trojans and end the streak?

Welp, here we are again. For the thousandth year in a row, the California Golden Bears are underdogs against the USC Trojans. USC is favored to win in Vegas by 15 points.

Do we have to go over the streak? Cal has not beaten USC since 2003. That’s 14 years and 13 straight losses. Four presidential elections, six Fast and the Furious movies, 300 new Simpsons episodes, you get the picture. A lot of things have happened since Cal last beat USC.

The odds are against Cal again. USC has Sam Darnold and Ronald Jones and a ton of talent on the offensive side of the football that is capable of producing 40 points at a whim. The defense is a bit rusty on the edges and struggling quite a bit with injuries though, and USC is coming off a tough double-overtime win against Texas.

The game is in Berkeley. That does make an unlikely chance at victory a little more probable, right?

Cal fans, what are your thoughts on the USC line? Let us know in the comments.
