California Golden Bears Tre Watson appeared to get hurt early against Weber State, then came back and appeared to get hurt again. It didn’t seem like a good sign.
Turns out it wasn’t. Watson’s 2017 campaign is over.
Cal confirmed today that Watson is out for the year with an injury to the “lower body”.
It's official, Tre Watson is on the injury report as out for the season (lower body)

There is still a possibility for Watson to apply for a medical redshirt. Watson appeared in only two of 12 Cal football games this season, so he should be eligible to return for the 2018 season if he wanted to come back... And Watson’s tweeting that he’ll be back for another year at Cal!
Thank you so much all apart of Gods plan... now you guys have me for another season

In the meantime, it’s a matter of which Cal running back takes the starting reigns? Vic Enwere had a great second half against North Carolina, but takes some time to get going. Patrick Laird had one of the greatest rushing performances in Cal history yesterday. Both Enwere and Laird figure to battle to win this spot.
