Cal opens as 2.5 point underdogs to Ole Miss

Which way are you betting?

The California Golden Bears will be facing yet another formidable foe in the form of the Ole Miss Runnin’ Rebels. Cal opens as just under field goal underdogs at home, with the line set at Ole Miss -2.5.

Ole Miss has had themselves a tumultuous summer. Their head coach got fired for a hooker phone scandal. Their football team is under a massive NCAA investigation that has already resulted in a bowl ban, and could lead to even further sanctions.

Yet they are still explosive, and Cal will be facing a familiar face on the opposite sideline. Jacob Peeler was an up-and-coming Cal receivers coach, and now he takes over a unit that could be even more explosive than the Bears. A.J. Brown, D.K. Metcalf, and DaMarkus Lodge were all Cal recruiting targets before they ended up with the Rebels, and they appear to be as good as advertised. It’ll be a stiff test for the Cal defense.

Cal fans, what are your thoughts on this line? Let us know in the comments.
