A former Golden Bear went and acquired another former Golden Bear. Brooklyn Nets GM Sean Marks swung a trade for Portland Trailblazers G/F Allen Crabbe. Crabbe was labelled as a big trade candidate this summer with the Blazers looking to shed salary from their top 10 NBA Payroll. The Nets reportedly had signed Crabbe to an offer sheet last summer when he was a restricted free agent. The Blazers ultimately matched the deal and he returned to Portland. Crabbe averaged 10.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.2 assists last season. He shot 44.4% from beyond the arc as well, which was good for 3rd in the NBA. He joins a crowded back court, as the Nets have Jeremy Lin, Sean Kilpatrick, Caris LeVert, Joe Harris, Spencer Dinwiddie, Archie Goodwin, Isaiah Whitehead, along with the recently acquired D’Angelo Russell.
Allen gets a fresh start in Brooklyn but will have to fight for minutes in a competitive backcourt. What do you think of the move Bears’ fans? Will he have more succcess out east at the Barclays Center? Let us know in the comments below.
