The California Golden Bears begin a Neu era at the mound. Who will join Mike Neu as part of his new coaching staff?

Here are the names:

Pat Shine: Shine returns for his second Cal coaching stint after managing the Clinton LumberKings in the Seattle Mariners organization. Shine joined the LumberKings in 2017 after spending three years as the video replay coordinator for the Miami Marlins. Shine was an assistant for Bob Milano at Cal in 1998-1999.

Shine will work with hitters, infielders and manage Cal's overall team defense in 2018.

Noah Jackson: The former Cal baseball player from 2001-03 and the godson of Dusty Baker (Darren joins Cal as a freshman this season), Jackson played for the Cubs fora few seasons. He was a volunteer assistant with Cal in 2015, became a professional scout for the Padres, and was an assistant with Neu at Pacific the last two seasons.

Jackson is responsible for hitters and outfielders at Cal this season.

Damon Lessler: Lessler is a West Coast veteran who has been an assistant at San Jose State, Chico State, Cal Poly and more. Lessler will be a volunteer assistant for the Bears this season.

Neu will be the pitching coach for Cal as well.

More on each new assistant from the new manager from CalBears.com.

"I think all three guys bring a lot of energy, are very hard working and are respected in the college game," Neu said. "Pat is great with the players and he's almost another manager to have with us. He really pushes guys but has a great relationship with the players. Noah is an unbelievable recruiter and hard worker. He's tireless and he knows what it'll take to get the right guys at Cal. And Damon is an unbelievable worker too who will help with our infielders and catchers."
