Tre Watson is an official Doak Walker preseason candidate

Another day, another Golden Bear earning preseason recognition. Already being placed on the Paul Hornung watch list, Tre Watson is now a preseason candidate for the Doak Walker Award, which is earned by “the nation's premier running back for his accomplishments on the field, achievement in the classroom and citizenship in the community.” There are ten Pac-12 players on the watch list and 63 total players.

Watson has been set up for a big 2017 with the potential to finally take the next step as our lead running back rather than being another weapon in our running back committee. Good luck, Tre!
